Introducing eBrand Services' Croatian Local Presence - .com.hr now available |
|
|
Munich, 3rd July 2008 - As part of
our on-going efforts to ease customers’ Domain registrations under the wide
range of existent ccTLDs worldwide, we are
happy to announce that our Croatian Local Presence is now part of the large
list of Local Presences eBrandServices provides to its customers.
eBrand Services’s
Croatian Local Presence allows customers to register domain names under the
Croatian ccTLD .com.hr,
where local presence requirements would otherwise make such registration for foreign companies impossible difficult.
Our local
presence provides applicants with an address which can be used as Admin-C.
In addition, registering a .com.hr now
could facilitate companies’ access to a .hr
domain in case of a liberalization of this TLD.
In order to
register your Domain Name in Croatia contact us at +49 (0)89 27 37 277-70
or email us at info@ebrandservices.de

CADNA Unhappy With ICANN Meeting Outcomes |
|
|
Not everyone is happy with ICANN's decision last week that could
lead to a lot more TLDs. The Coalition Against Domain Name Abuse
(CADNA) is dead against such a move, saying it could lead to as many as
300 new gTLDs in 2009. CADNA has called the decision drastic and that
the decision was made despite opposition by many leading brand owners
at the ICANN meeting . Well, as if CADNA is the only interested party
in this decision.

CIRA's 'whois' policy a stunning setback for privacy by Michael Geist |
|
|
Michael Geist, the Canadian law professor who specialises in internet
law issues, is critical of CIRA's new Whois privacy policy in his
latest column.
Previously supporting the policy, Geist writes special interests
representing law enforcement and trademark holders were quietly
pressuring CIRA to create a back door that will enable these two groups
to have special access to registrant information. Just days before the
new policy took effect, CIRA caved to the behind-the-scenes pressure
and took a major step backward in the implementation of its policy.

Follow-up to last week's ICANN decisions - Are New TLDs a Good Idea? |
|
|
As previously reported, ICANN announced a number of significant
decisions last week at it's meeting in Paris. For most, the most
notable of these was the announcement ICANN will allow new gTLDs. Some
of the press think this is a significant and great idea. Others,
probably with trademark lawyers or representative bodies whispering in
their ears, think the decision is nigh on calamitous.

Growth Opportunities At Times of Uncertainty |
|
|
Approximately eleven years ago my sister was working at a small bar in Texas, done anything from bar tendering to sweeping the floors. The salary range was anywhere from 30$ during weekdays to 100$ on weekends. Not a lot but nevertheless, it was something. She liked the place and the owner and most of the crowd seem to like her. Because of that, it was a surprise that one evening she came back home crying telling me she was let go due to “complaints”. What were the complaints about? Well, she was Jewish and some of the crowd did not like that very much. Her boss wanted to avoid potential trouble so this was his way of doing so.

Luxembourg and Cologne |
|
|
I can't believe that I'm doing this again. Yep, I'm sitting in the airline lounge while I await QF6 to Singapore and then onward to Melbourne. The lounge is packed and yet there isn't a sound as everyone stares completely wrapped at the TV while Spain and Russia battle it out in the Euro Cup.
Since leaving Paris I headed off to Luxembourg for a couple of days with the guys from EuroDNS and Domain Invest. Freddy, Marcus and Xavier are fantastic guys who combined have an incredible expertise in domains. It was only a few years ago that EuroDNS was a tiny little registrar and it now is a thriving business with multiple successful business units.
